Sen

Sen is a popular Nasheenian drug made up of the shredded leaves of a plant of the same name, thought to be indigenous to Umayma. It can be distilled as a tea, or the leaves chewed. When ingested, the drug dulls pain, and may produce a sharp clarity and alertness. Though commonly used only recreationally among the masses, heavy users such as night workers, soldiers, and day laborers may develop a dependence. Readers looking to map it to more terrestrial flora may find it helpful to think of the drug as an amalgam of tobacco, betel nut, and cacao leaves.
