Chenjan bordertown, 40km from the Nasheenian border. Has changed hands often, and was part of Nasheen for several hundred years before being swallowed by Chenja.
Thought to be the name of one of the founding families of Nasheen - now since lost to history - it is also the name of a breeding compound on the Nasheenian cost.

From GOD'S WAR:
Damira dropped them off outside Azam, a bleeding border city. A half-dozen anti-burst gun towers ringed the swollen black sprawl of the city, half again as tall as its two minarets. Most of the gun towers were charred husks. Heaps of debris littered the roadway.
