A follower of the Kitab in Chenja or Nasheen trained in the doctrine of the Kitab. Most mullahs become teachers and scholars at madrasas or local mosques. In Nasheen, only women and men who’ve survived the front can become mullahs. In Chenja, only men may become mullahs, and are relieved from compulsory service in the military. (org. Persian. A Muslim trained in the doctrine and law of Islam; a Muslim religious scholar or teacher)
