A type of slow-growing, scraggly tree with grasping, finger-like branches that is bare of all leaves except for two months a year when it blooms small, heart-shaped, feathery yellow flowers. The trees takes its sustenance not from the sun, but from the bugs drawn to its milky sap, which it secretes during the spring and summer months.
