Burnous

A long cloak or cape with a hood made of silk, dog hair, or organic fiber, usually large enough to wrap fully about the body during the day for protection from the sun and at night for sleeping. Sometimes worn with slits in the fabric for the arms. Most commonly worn in Nasheen and Chenja. (org. French “burnous” from the original Arabic, “burnus.” A long, one-piece cloak with a hood, usually white or striped, worn primarily in North Africa)
